Yi Future’s founding team brings together deep expertise in clean energy, engineering, finance, and communications, united by a shared commitment to building a more sustainable residential energy future in Canada. Across continents and disciplines, they have led complex technical projects, scaled businesses, and managed investor and customer relationships—while staying grounded in real-world problems facing households and communities.

Together, the Yi Future founding team combines decades of global industry experience with fresh academic insight and entrepreneurial drive. They share a conviction that residential energy storage can be both technically robust and accessible to everyday families—and they bring the operational, technical, financial, and communications expertise to make that vision real.

Meet The Team

Bian Yifang

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Bian Yifang provides overall strategic leadership for Yi Future, overseeing investor relations, regulatory compliance, and long-term vision. With a strong academic background in economics and global security from the University of British Columbia and Johns Hopkins University, she brings a sophisticated understanding of environmental policy, financial markets, and macroeconomic trends relevant to the clean-tech sector.

Her professional experience includes financial modeling, startup valuation, and equity research at firms like Sparken Capital, China Securities, and Huatai Securities. This background equips her with sharp analytical skills for capital raising, financial planning, and strategic growth initiatives. Fluent in English and Mandarin, Bian is adept at managing supply chain relationships and exploring cross-border opportunities.

Liao Gangyong

Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Liao Gangyong manages Yi Future’s operational workflow, supply chain logistics, and process engineering, leveraging over 25 years of experience in technology, telecommunications, and entrepreneurship. Holding a Bachelor of Engineering and an MBA, he combines technical depth with strategic business acumen.

His extensive experience includes nearly two decades as Chairperson and Vice General Manager of a successful telecommunications company, where he led end-to-end business operations, sales management, and strategic planning. Now based in Canada, Liao applies his expertise in organizational efficiency, cross-border coordination, and developing distribution channels to support the scaling of Yi Future in the residential energy market.

Chai Qiang

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Chai Qiang leads Yi Future’s R&D division, focusing on the design and development of battery repurposing processes, BMS systems, and advanced electronics integration. He brings over 30 years of leadership and technical experience in global power systems and renewable energy, with a strong foundation in mechanical and electrical engineering.

His career at Siemens and other leading firms involved successfully developing and commercializing innovative energy infrastructure solutions, including modular substations and offshore wind platforms. Chai’s hands-on experience with Energy Management Systems and grid integration of wind-solar-storage-charging applications provides essential insight for home-based battery storage solutions, enhancing the startup's technical and operational capabilities.

Zheng Zengtao

Chief Product Officer (CPO)

Zheng Zengtao focuses on technical product development, testing, and quality assurance, ensuring Yi Future’s solutions meet safety standards and customer needs. With over a decade of engineering and technology expertise in computer science and electronics, he has hands-on experience in hardware development, IoT systems, and embedded technologies.

His accomplishments include developing low-power wireless modules and smart safety monitoring devices, and his patented work in Bluetooth-based IoT technologies highlights his innovative capacity. Zheng’s proven record in maintaining operational software and certifications in Red Hat Linux and Kubernetes further reinforce his ability to contribute to scalable service delivery and innovative solutions for the clean-tech business.

Fu Bo

Chief Marketing Officer

Fu Bo leads Yi Future’s go-to-market strategy, brand development, and partnership initiatives, marking a new chapter driven by her distinctive combination of creative insight and financial expertise.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting and Hosting Arts and an MBA with a concentration in Finance. Early in her career, she worked as a television producer and director at CCTV-7 and was also involved in magazine publishing—experiences that built a strong foundation in public communication and project execution. Over the past two decades, she has successfully delivered multiple projects across multinational corporations and large state-owned enterprises, developing a diverse professional background spanning media, market research, and business operations.

Prior to joining Yi Future, Fu Bo spent 12 years at Guoxin Securities, where she was engaged in industry research and capital markets–related work. This experience has given her a deep understanding of the strategic direction of clean-energy startups, the types of partnerships required to scale effectively, and how to plan and position a company for its long-term capital markets journey.

Yirui Sun

Board Advisor

Yirui Sun brings over 15 years of experience in the battery and electronics recycling industry, with a deep understanding of market dynamics, technology trends, and the full recycling value chain. She has built an extensive network of buyers and suppliers across both upstream and downstream segments, enabling Yi Future to secure reliable feedstock, optimize pricing, and forge strong strategic partnerships. Her ability to connect stakeholders—from recyclers and manufacturers to service providers—helps accelerate commercialization and de-risk scaling in a rapidly evolving sector.

In addition to industry expertise, Yirui has a proven track record of working closely with government agencies on energy and recycling initiatives. She possesses in-depth knowledge of renewable energy subsidies, grants, and incentive programs, along with the practical know-how to navigate and secure these funding opportunities. By combining policy insight with hands-on industry relationships, Yirui plays a key role in aligning Yi Future’s projects with public-sector priorities and unlocking support that fuels long-term growth.
